Some of our systems use the serial standard known as RS-232 was the standard for all serial ports on PCs for years (before USB). RS-232 ports are limited to just a few feet of wire and a single piece equipment on each serial port. The RS-232 serial connection is the male DE-09 male connector on the C-USB-RS232. It will plug right into a Br-MiniBrick8, SER-DMX, DAC-QUAD, Br-DMX, etc.
Many of our products use a 3.5mm TRS jack for their RS-232 connections. These include the Pb-DMXs, Sd-50s, SD-25 w/DMX, Sd-10s, etc.. Use the Mp3-50/CBL to adapt from the DE-09 male on the C-USB-RS232 to their 3.5mm RS-232 serial connectors.
Features of the C-USB-RS232 Converter include:
- Converts the USB ports found on most computers to a RS-232 connection.
- DE-09 connector for direct connection to most RS-232 devices.
- Green LED shows data transmitted by PC.
- Red LED shows data received by PC.
- Powered by the USB port. No external power supply is needed.
- Drivers available for both PCs and Macs (and most other OS’s as well).
